About James R Shaw & Sons

• James R Shaw came to Cumnock in 1970 and took over from Miss Helen Hunter at the home practice on Barrhill Road.
• In 1977 James moved to current location on Townhead st, Cumnock.
• Twin sons Russell and Stewart joined the firm in 1984 when the company name changed to James R Shaw & Sons.
• 1985 branch practices were established at Sanquhar and Thornhill in Dumfriesshire.
• In 2000 Alan Beck joined the company.
• In 2007 a new practice was opened in Mauchline.
• In 2008 Alistair Duff joined the company.
